1. Do I need a card to enter the library ?

    The reader who has opened the library card can enter the library by the card (Campus Card) and the person without the card will be prohibited the entry. The people who come to handle business should be validated and registered before admission.

2. Opening Hours ?

    The library is opening from 8:00AM to 9:30PM, Monday to Sunday. Room 201 in southern district is opening from 8:00AM to 10:30PM. Check the detail from the library homepage- “Library Guide"- "Opening Hours".

3.What is the library official homepage ?

5. Whom to ask if I meet problems ?

    You can consult the librarian from Service Desk or Service, or by telephone 84710530 (Admin Office) and you can also leave your messages or suggestions through the library homepage -"Smart Advice" , "Readers Message” and "Director Mailbox".

6. How to submit my complains or suggestions about the library work and services ?

There are three ways:

    ① You can leave your message to the library homepage-“Readers Message”.

    ② You can submit your message to the Curator’s Mailbox in the library homepage.

    ③ You can also contact us by email or telephone 84710530 (Admin Office).

Readers are welcome to criticize and make suggestions; we will listen carefully and reply timely.

7. How to find my lost items ?

    The library is a public place, so you should pay attention to take care of your belongings. If you lost the items in the library, you can ask the librarian in the Service Desk. The lost items got from all departments in the library will be focused on the Front Desk, so the reader can consult over there.

8. How to use the library's books-and-bangs cabinet ?

    You can put your books and bangs in the cabinet for short time. You should take away the personal belongings when you leave the library and cannot occupy it overnight. The librarian will clear up cabinet next morning before the opening of the library. The personal belongings which are collected by librarian will be hand over to the General Service Desk. You can collect your items at the prescribed places every Monday with the student card and unpacking ticket.

9. How to do if the cabinet door cannot open ?

There are several reasons to cause the door hard to open:

    ① You open the door by the ticket repeatedly;

    ② Using the wrong cabinet ticket;

    ③ There are too many items are put in the cabinet that jam the door;

In such cases, don’t try to push the door open.

10. How to donate books to the library ?

    Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Library warmly welcome and sincerely solicit our teachers and students, alumni, community groups and all walks of life to donate books, manuscripts and other types of literature. After the registration of the donated books, the library will be adhering to the principle of the "best use", and determining whether to accept according to the related criteria. The accepted donations will be owned by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and the library has the right to decide the way of collection, custody and process of the donations and incorporated into the readers query directory. The library will dispose the donations which are not meeting the criteria in an appropriate manner. Whoever, person or organization, intends to provide donations may contact the Reader Service Department. See the "Library Book Donation Management Regulation".

    In addition, there is an "Integrity Drifting Book Corner" in the southern district of the Library which received the donations all year. All the books are donated by the teachers, students, alumni, publishers and other friends. The books in this region are pursued the principle of "self-borrowing and self-returning, test integrity, love donation, benefiting after school", readers who want to borrow the book simply register their personal information on the Borrow Book and return it within a month. We will register and stamp the "donation" seal on the donated books and place them in the Book Corner for readers to borrow. At the same time, we will show the gratitude and respect to donors by message and publicize the list of donors on the library homepage regularly.

11. How to deal with the procedure of leaving school ?

    The students (Manpower Recruitment) who have been incorporated into "Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Leaving School Management System" should follow the uniform procedures.

    The readers who are not registered in the " Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Leaving Management System " but have the borrowing card, including various types of guaranteed readers, transferred, going abroad, retirement or other university staff, need to hold an official leaving permit to deal with the procedure of leaving school. If guaranteed readers leave school without the following procedure at the end of their study and work, the guarantor will have the responsibility.

12. How to recommend books or periodicals to buy for library ?

    Library attaches great importance to the recommendations from readers for the book and periodical. The readers can recommend books and periodical at any time on library homepage-"Readers Recommendation". We will promptly response your suggestions.

13. What procedures are needed to do for freshmen to borrow books ?

    Before opening the card, freshmen are requested to attend the training course of "Library Use and Information Retrieval" and pass the education test.

14. 新教工入职怎样办理借阅证?

答:新进教职工凭入校通知单、院系证明及校园一卡通到图书馆北区403室就可办理相关手续。已有校园卡但未激活借阅卡的教职工,可到图书馆北区403室办理激活。

15. What are the user’s number and password of your library card ?

    The user’s number and initial password of the library card (Campus Card) are uniformly pre-determined by ICBC Bank campus card center. Readers want to know the user’s number can check from the campus deposit machine and library seat management system. The user’s number is on the “My Information”-“Campus Card No.” of the campus deposit machine or “School Work No.” of the choosing seat list of the library seat management system, which is composed of ten digits, such as 0000012345.

    The initial password is the same as the user’s number (Note: the initial password of the Year 2014 entry graduate student is 123456), you may modify the password according to your needs. If you unfortunately forgot the modified password, they can retrieve from and get back from Room 403 (Library Circulation Department, in Northern District).

16. How to do if my library card is lost ?

    If your ICBC campus card were lost, you should firstly go to the ICBC Bank to report the loss and apply for a new card. After getting the new card, you should access the campus card function to the campus card center. You do not need to do anything to the library, and the library system is automatically opened to use.

17.Why the newly opened and new card cannot choose the seat ?

    The newly opened and new card can choose the seat by the next day (after 24hours) due to the system data synchronization problems.

18. Can the library provide a fixed place of self-study, and how to apply ?

    There is an “individual space" in southern district of the library that can provide a constant and quiet learning environment. All teachers and students can apply for it. You need to make reservations in advance by:

    ① telephone: Number is 84710536

    ② registering in Office 307, in the southern district.

19. How to apply the "120 Group Discussion Space" ?

    Group discussion space can provide the teaching discussion, teacher-student interactive, student group organizing seminars and small meetings for teachers and students. There are nine research spaces in Room 120 that one space for 16 people, two for 6 people, two for 6 to 8 people, and four for 4 to 6 people.

    Application steps: there are two kinds of making an appointment, the first is artificial reservation, and readers can log in the library homepage, download the "Library (Southern District) 120 Group Discussion Space Application Form" in the "Download Region". It shall be filled in the day before or 8: 00-17: 00 on the day (except Saturday or Sunday) and checked by the Reader Service Department in Office 307 of the southern district. The second is online booking; readers log in the library website, and make an appointment by entering the "Online Booking" system.
